ISLAMABAD, May 16 (INP): The establishment of AVRDC-The World Vegetable Center, Pakistan Office at National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Campus will strengthen cooperation among Pakistani and AVRDC vegetable scientists. This was stated by Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad, Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) while inaugurating the establishment of AVRDC Pakistan Office here at NARC in a ceremony. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad said that AVRDC has a long history of collaboration with PARC. At present it is a partner of new USAID funded four-year Agricultural Innovations Program. He said PARC recognizes how much it has benefited from the collaboration with AVRDC and now wishes to take this collaboration to a new level to further strengthen PARC’s vegetable research, development and training capacity to sustain the gains in vegetable productivity and profitability in Pakistan. On this occasion, Dr. Mansab Ali, Vegetable Program Leader of AVRDC-The World Vegetable Centre appreciated the good will gesture of giving space to AVRDC for Pakistan Office at NARC Campus.
