LAHORE, Sept 13 (INP): Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami (JI) Liaqat Baloch has urged the government, PTI and PAT to give up intransigence and step forward for resolving the on going political crisis in the interest of the country and the democratic system.
Addressing a gathering of traders from Gulberg area on Saturday, Liaqat Baloch said that the political crisis had prolonged too much and was now taking on the nerves of the people and had also shattered the country’s economy.
The JI Secretary General said that the statement from the ISPR regarding the armed forces non interference in politics and support to the democratic system was both encouraging as well as a warning. He said that since all other demands of the protesting parties had been met, the whole process should not be sabotaged on the single point of Prime Minister’s resignation.
He condemned the arrests made in Islamabad and warned it will ruin the efforts to resolve the issue.
However, he said that the Opposition Jirga would play its positive role.
Liaqat Baloch also condemned the over billing of electricity by WAPDA. He said the residents of the slums had been sent bills of hundreds of thousand rupees which reflected the efficiency of the WAPDA.
The JI Secretary General will visit Thar on Sunday and address a public meeting at Mithi.
