LHVs protest for their regularization, announce boycott polio campaign
LARKANA, Feb 08(INP): A large number of Lady Health Workers (LHVs) announced to boycott of Polio campaign and held protest demonstration and sit-in before the mausoleum of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bukhsh Bhutto for regularization of their jobs and allowances here on Monday.
On the occasion, they announced to boycott the upcoming polio drive on February 15 – 17th, to cover 44 Union Councils and administer 275819 children only in Larkana district by the 529 teams of LHVs and others.
While, several hundred of LHVs from different districts of Sindh including Larkana, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Badin, Dadu, Tandio Allahyar, Mirpurkhas, Naushehroferoze, Matiari, Hyderabad and other parts of country here to protest for their regularization and increase of salaries and allowances by the present government.
They chanted slogans against the government and committed to continue their struggle in front the Mazar of Benazir Bhutto till their demands are not addressed.
On the occasion, they also announced to complete boycott of the Polio eradication drive from February 15 to February 17, 2010 in Sindh.
