The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has officially nominated Faisal Rathore as its candidate for the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, announcing plans to submit a no-confidence motion against the incumbent government. Speaking to the media in Islamabad, senior PPP leader and former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf emphasized that all party decisions are made through mutual consultation.

"The decision to submit a no-confidence motion has been taken, and the Pakistan Peoples Party will form the government in Azad Kashmir," he declared.Ashraf highlighted the party's deep emotional ties to the region, stating, "Azad Kashmir is close to the heart of the PPP. We will try our best to bring convenience to the Kashmiris.

We are in a position to form the government—if we have the numbers, there is no need for anyone's support."PPP Azad Kashmir President Chaudhry Yasin, who was also present, reinforced the party's commitment to the Kashmir cause. "Shaheed Benazir Bhutto always prioritized the Kashmir issue, and President Asif Ali Zardari has spoken openly about the right of Kashmiris to self-determination at every forum.

The PPP and Kashmir are in full support," he said.Yasin described the PPP's position in Azad Kashmir as "very strong," noting that the decision was taken in light of the current political situation. He warned that governing the region "is not a bed of flowers but a garland of thorns."Outlining the numbers, Yasin claimed the PPP already holds the "golden number of 27" seats required for a majority in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

"If the members of the Muslim League-N join, the number will become 40," he added, expressing confidence in forming the government with Rathore at the helm. The announcement signals a major political shift in Azad Kashmir, where the PPP aims to capitalize on its legislative strength to oust the current administration and address longstanding issues facing the region.
