ISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (INP): Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Friday moved to Interior Ministry for removal of former premier Nawaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
According to sources, the PML-N president has submitted an application to the interior secretary, requesting the removal of Nawaz’s name from ECL as the former premier wanted to fly abroad for medical treatment.
Sources said that the authorities are reviewing the application filed by Shehbaz Sharif.
Nawaz Sharif was granted bail on medical grounds by the Lahore High Court (LHC) in a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation pertaining to Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
Moreover, the Islamabad High Court granted an eight-week suspension of his seven-year sentence awarded by accountability court judge Arshad Malik in the Al-Azizia reference.
The PML-N supremo was first taken to the government-run hospital last month after his health deteriorated.
He was discharged from the Lahore Services Hospital on Wednesday after his daughter, Maryam Nawaz, was also granted bail in a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiry pertaining to Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
Nawaz is currently being treated at his Raiwind residence where an ICU unit has been established under the supervision of the former premier’s personal physician Dr Adnan Malik.
