KP CM Afridi okays making CTD’s 186 detectives into field operatorsتازترین

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Tuesday approved making the Counter-Terrorism Department’s (CTD) 186 detectives into permanent field operators, who would perform the task of cyber patrolling, intelligence, surveillance and field operations.Chairing an important meeting of the CTD in Peshawar, the chief minister also okayed the setting up of the department’s new regional headquarters in Peshawar.

The meeting decided to revive the project of building CTD offices in 21 districts of the province at the cost of over Rs4 billion. An amount of over Rs7 billion was approved for the provision of vehicles, and latest equipment to the department. The CM directed the CTD to meet the deadlines set for recruitment and the introduction of reforms. 

Afridi said that the provincial government was working for the restoration of law and order with full sincerity. He expressed the resolve that lack of resources would not be allowed to become a stumbling block in ensuring law and order situation in the province.At the meeting, the chief minister was briefed in detail about the CTD.
