The Indian forces’ aggressive cordon and search operation in the Dori Maal forest area of Gambhir Mughlan in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir entered its 18th consecutive day on Tuesday, with fresh heavy explosions and intense gunfire echoing across the region. According to Kashmir Media Service, the large-scale military operation, launched on May 23, continues despite massive deployment of troops, war helicopters, drones, sniffer dogs and para commandos.
Indian forces have further tightened the cordon around the dense forest zone and are carrying out extensive search operations. Even after more than two and a half weeks of intense military action, the Indian forces have failed to achieve any notable success. The prolonged operation has completely disrupted normal life in the area, with residents living under constant fear, uncertainty and severe restrictions.
Repeated door-to-door searches and heavy troop movement have turned the region into a virtual war zone. The continued military siege in Rajouri highlights the BJP regime’s reliance on brute force and intimidation rather than addressing the genuine political aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Despite 18 days of aggressive operations and heavy resource deployment, the forces remain unsuccessful, while ordinary civilians continue to bear the brunt of this unending militarisation.
