Minster for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has praised the vital role of sports journalists in promoting a healthy competition from grassroots to international levels. Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said sports journalism has instilled hope and a spirit of sportsmanship in society, encouraging young people to adopt sports and achieve excellence. 

Attaullah Tarar said sports journalists help glamorize sports and generate excitement for competitions that are organized across the country and around the world, thereby popularizing sports and motivating talented young individuals. He assured that the government's policy is to support and encourage sports journalists, promising every possible facilitation to them. The Minister also felicitated the newly elected office bearers the Sports Journalists Association and expressed the hope that they would continue to highlight and promote success stories in the field of sports.
