Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) has established a landmark academic partnership with South China Sea Institute of Oceanology (SCSIO), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding.

The agreement, recently formalized in Guangzhou by LUAWMS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Malik and SCSIO Director General Prof. Chaolun Li, marks a step forward in international marine science collaboration, Gwadar Pro reported on Thursday.

This strategic alliance between Balochistan’s premier marine science institution and China’s leading ocean research center will enable joint research initiatives, faculty exchanges and specialized scholarship programs for Pakistani students.

The collaboration is particularly focused on addressing the critical marine environmental challenges faced by coastal areas and Balochistan’s 750 km coastline stands to benefit significantly from the knowledge transfer.
