More than 15 PakistanI medium- and small-sized companies showcased products at the 20th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) in China's south economic hub of Guangzhou. The four-day event, which ran from June 27-30, featured a Pakistani national pavilion inaugurated by Consul General Sardar Muhammad and a local official.

Products on display included onyx stone carvings, bronze decorative pieces, wooden handicrafts, traditional furniture, and items from e-commerce brands, Gwadar Pro reported on Wednesday.

A specialised section for Asian brands featured Pakistani food exports such as pine nuts, biscuits, Himalayan pink salt, and Sindhri mangoes. This year's fair coincided with U.N. Micro-, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Day and attracted over 2,000 exhibitors from around the world, according to event organisers.

"This platform provides an excellent opportunity to showcase Pakistan’s diverse export potential beyond traditional sectors,” said Cindy Chen, a regional director for Zhitong Batie, a China-Pakistan trade promotion company that has introduced Pakistani mangoes to the Chinese market since 2001.

"The response to our organic food products demonstrates growing Chinese interest in quality Pakistani goods." CISMEF, held since 2004, is an international event focused on small and medium enterprises. The fair has attracted government officials, industry experts, trade associations and SMEs from across China and participating nations.
