CNF Punjab foils drug trafficking bid, seizes 475kg narcotics in Bahawalpurتازترین

Counter-Narcotics Force (CNF) Punjab has recovered 475 kilograms of narcotics worth Rs78 million during two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) on the night between May 28 and 29, in Bahawalpur. According to the Punjab CNF spokesperson, the Bahawalpur Division’s special operations team conducted intelligence-based raids near Lal Sahara Nasheen Park and Shahdara Morr Bari. The operations resulted in the arrest of two alleged drug traffickers and the seizure of 475 kilograms of narcotics.

During the first raid near Lal Sahara Nasheen Park, officials intercepted a vehicle and recovered 32 kilograms of narcotics. One suspect, identified as Abdul Jabbar, was arrested at the scene. Information obtained during the initial interrogation led authorities to launch an immediate follow-up operation at Shahdara Morr Bari. The second raid exposed a dumping site allegedly being used by the trafficking network, where a large quantity of narcotics was hidden.

Authorities recovered a total of 382 kilograms of hashish, 92 kilograms of opium, and one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice. During the investigation, the arrested suspects reportedly confessed to supplying narcotics to multiple cities across Punjab, including Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Khanewal, Jhang, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Pattoki, Pakpattan, Arifwala, Okara, and nearby areas.

The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force stated that operations against organized drug trafficking groups are being expanded across the province. The spokesperson reaffirmed the Punjab Government’s commitment to protecting the younger generation from the growing threat of narcotics and vowed that strict action against drug dealers and smugglers would continue without discrimination.
