Representatives of a leading Chinese healthcare company on Thursday have presented a cheque of Rs1 million to Nurse Razia Noreen of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in recognition of her courage in rescuing a child from a fire that broke out in the nursery of the hospital.

Yan Jin, Chairperson, and Blair He, Business Manager of JFH (Jiangchuan Fuhai) of Shanghai, who are currently visiting Pakistan, presented the cheque to Nurse Razia Noreen, according to Gwadar Pro.

The Chinese company has operations spanning pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and healthcare investment, surgical robotics and medical training, and is also involved in major hospital projects in China and other countries.

Appreciating Nurse Razia Noreen's bravery, Yan Jin described her as a “real hero” and praised her courage in saving the life of a child during the emergency.

She said that saving even one life meant saving a life of humanity, stressing that acts of courage and compassion transcend national boundaries.

Talking to Gwadar Pro, Yan Jin also expressed her strong friendship with Pakistan and said she would use her influence to help attract greater Chinese investment and promote bilateral trade between Pakistan and China.

She said the people of China have deep affection for the people of Pakistan, highlighting the close ties and goodwill between the two countries.

The initiative was coordinated with the assistance of Majyd Aziz, President of the Employers Federation of Pakistan, who was contacted by the visiting Chinese representatives to facilitate the process.

The Chinese delegation also appreciated the steps being taken by the government and private sector to promote women's empowerment and gender equality in Pakistan.

The recognition of Nurse Razia Noreen comes as Chinese business representatives visiting Pakistan continue to explore opportunities for cooperation in healthcare, investment and other sectors, while also engaging with Pakistani institutions and the private sector.
