To commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Host Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Sargodha, led a delegation of more than 10 faculty members and students to HeroBoss Technology (China-Pakistan Economic and Cultural Exchange Center) in Luoyang, Henan.

It was for a one-day cultural event titled “Tasting Millennia-Old Heluo, Celebrating China-Pakistan Friendship – Multi-Dimensional Chinese Cultural Experience Event ” Gwadar Pro reported on Sunday.

The event featured a range of immersive activities: opera, dumpling‑making, calligraphy, a museum visit, and a heritage night tour.

Henan Opera took centre stage at the opening, with classic excerpts from “Mu Guiying Takes Command” and “Chaoyanggou” captivating the audience.

Afterwards, several students tried their hand at traditional sleeve play and dramatic poses under the guidance of local artists.

“All emotions in Chinese opera are conveyed through the eyes and expressions – no translation needed,” one participant remarked.

They also visited the Luoyang Museum, where they lingered over Silk Road relics such as Tang Sancai figurines of Central Asian merchants, Eastern Roman gold coins and Persian silverware.

“These artifacts tell us that exchanges between China and Pakistan had already begun their prologue in the annals of history,” said Dr. Awan.

An intangible cultural heritage inheritor then introduced the Luoyang spade, explaining its evolution from an archaeological prospecting tool to modern construction applications, providing a tangible link to ancient Chinese craftsmanship.

In the evening, the delegation donned traditional Hanfu and strolled through Luoyi Ancient City.

A drone formation rose above the illuminated Wenfeng Pagoda, tracing patterns reminiscent of the Silk Road, a striking fusion of tradition and technology that embodied China’s philosophy of “preserving heritage while embracing innovation.”

HeroBoss Technology will regularly organize youth study tours, heritage exhibitions, and cultural salons between the two countries, ensuring that people‑to‑people friendship extends beyond celebratory events.

Dr. Awan announced that the Confucius Institute will designate Luoyang as a key destination for Pakistani students’ practical training in China, aiming to “bring more young people along the Silk Road and send them home with stories to tell.”
