ANF arrests 6 smugglers with over 26 kg of drugsBreaking

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), conducting nine operations across the country, recovered as many as 26.437 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs 4.249 million and arrested six suspects, said an ANF Headquarters spokesman on Monday. He informed that 500 grams of opium were recovered from the possession of an accused near a University area, Islamabad. 

In another operation, 330 grams of hashish and 13 grams of ice were recovered from the possession of an accused near Punjab Chowk, Mansehra. The arrested accused confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions. As many as 864 grams of heroin and clonazepam capsules were recovered from the luggage of a passenger going to Dubai at Allama Iqbal International Airport. Similarly,95 grams of ice-filled capsules were recovered from the stomach of a passenger going to Doha at Bacha Khan International Airport. 

As many as 50 capsules weighing 360 grams of ice were recovered from the stomach of a passenger going to Dubai at Islamabad International Airport. During another operation, 2.4 kgs of hashish were recovered from parcels sent to Faisalabad from a courier office located on Ring Road, Peshawar. As many as 1.250 kgs of hashish were recovered from parcels sent to Karachi and Lahore, at the courier office located on Ring Road, Peshawar. 

As much as 7.2 kgs of hashish were recovered from the bag of an accused near RCD Road, Hub. During another operation,8.4 kgs of hashish and 5 kgs of ice were recovered near Sangjani Toll Plaza, Islamabad. Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Narcotics Control Act, and further investigations are underway.
