The Sindh government has ordered that fire safety arrangements be made at all government offices. All offices have been ordered to strictly implement fire security measures. According to details, a ban has been imposed on keeping LPG cylinders inside offices, while it has also been made mandatory that guards will remain present at offices round the clock.
Similarly, the provincial government has also ordered that there should be firefighting equipment at every office and fire alarm systems should also be installed. Instructions have been given that all office staffers should be imparted fire safety training and that emergency numbers should be displayed at prominent places. The government has also directed that there should be special numbers to contact Rescue 1122.
Regular checking of electric appliances and the removal of garbage and inflammatory material has also been ordered. Instructions have also been given to keep routes open so that fire brigade vehicles could have access to buildings in case of a fire. The government has also ordered that there should be a fire safety audit of all government departments. Likewise, conducting fire contingency drills have also been ordered.
