Wah Cantt police have arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a murder case since 2006, officials said on Tuesday. According to police, the suspect had allegedly opened fire on a man along with his accomplices following a minor altercation. The injured man later died while undergoing treatment, after which a murder case was registered.

Police said the suspect had been evading arrest since 2006 and was declared a proclaimed offender by the court. Using technical assistance and human intelligence, Wah Cantt police traced and arrested the suspect during an intelligence-based operation, officials said. Police added that two of the suspect’s alleged accomplices had already been arrested, while further investigation into the case is underway.
