The federal government has approved a joint survey of river embankments across the country ahead of the monsoon season, aiming to strengthen flood preparedness and reduce potential risks.According to officials, the decision was taken as part of intensified efforts to prevent possible flooding situations. Following a letter from military authorities, the Federal Flood Commission has issued formal instructions to irrigation departments in all four provinces.

The survey will be conducted jointly by provincial irrigation departments and the Corps of Army Engineers. Authorities have been directed to identify weaknesses in protective embankments and take immediate corrective measures where required. The official communication further instructs all provinces to submit comprehensive reports to the Federal Flood Commission after completing the survey.Departments have been asked to ensure that all relevant data and findings are submitted by May 15, as part of coordinated national flood preparedness measures.
