The police and security forces on Tuesday exchanged fire with suspected militants in the Lachi area of the district. The police units responded to the scene after receiving orders from District Police Officer (DPO), Shahbaz Elahi and launched an operation against the attackers. The sources said the area was cordoned off, with additional personnel deployed to prevent any escape.

The units of the security forces joined the operation, working alongside police as a coordinated effort to contain the threat. They said a broader crackdown against the armed group was underway and would continue until the responsible were captured or killed. No immediate details were available on casualties, they added.
