Former Pakistan fast-bowling great and one of the world's fastest bowlers, Shoaib Akhtar, is mourning the loss of his elder brother, Shahid Akhtar, who passed away on Wednesday. The former Pakistan speedster announced the sad news through a message on social media, expressing profound grief over the demise of his beloved brother. In his statement, Shoaib Akhtar said that Shahid Akhtar had "returned to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala" and requested friends, fans, and well-wishers to remember him in their prayers.

"It is with great sadness that I share that my beloved elder brother Shahid Akhtar has returned to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. I request everyone to remember him in their prayers and ask Allah Almighty to grant him forgiveness and mercy," Shoaib wrote. According to family sources, the funeral prayers for the late Shahid Akhtar will be offered today at the H-8 Graveyard in Islamabad. Family members, relatives, friends, and people from various walks of life are expected to attend the funeral.

Following the announcement, members of the cricket fraternity, former teammates, and fans from across the country expressed their condolences to Shoaib Akhtar and his family. Messages of sympathy and prayers for the deceased have continued to pour in on social media.
