A Chinese mining engineering and equipment company has expressed keen interest in expanding its operations in Pakistan, citing the country’s vast mineral resources and the growing scope for bilateral cooperation.
Speaking to Wealth Pakistan on the sidelines of the Pak-China Mineral Cooperation Forum, Min Ziheng, Director of the Marketing Planning Department at JZ Creation, said his company specialises in mining engineering, technical mining equipment and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) services, along with maintenance and operations.
He said Pakistan offers strong potential for collaboration due to its rich mineral base and the rising demand for modern mining solutions.
“We focus on mining engineering and technical mining equipment, and we are also an EPC supplier providing maintenance and operation services. Pakistan has huge mineral resources, and we have strong technical capabilities, so we are looking for cooperation here,” he said.
Min said the company has been operating in Pakistan for more than two decades and maintains a branch office in Karachi. During this period, it has completed several projects, including work at the Hub Power Plant.
According to him, the company supplies a wide range of bulk-handling and logistics equipment, including ship loaders, conveyors, spreaders and train loaders, which are imported from China and delivered to local clients.
Explaining the purpose of attending the forum, Min said the company aims to secure new projects and further strengthen business ties between China and Pakistan.
“There has always been business between China and Pakistan, and Pakistan is a huge market. Mining is our core strength, and we want to participate in more projects here,” he added.
He said the firm can support mining operations across multiple commodities, including copper, gold and coal. While the company operates globally, several of its colleagues are permanently based in Pakistan to manage local operations and marketing activities, he noted.
Expressing optimism about future cooperation, Min said the company hopes to identify quality projects and contribute to deepening bilateral ties.
“We know Pakistan very well. We have done projects here for many years, and we find the people very kind. We hope to get more projects and achieve great success together,” he added.
Meanwhile, another Chinese engineering group has also entered Pakistan’s mining sector, drawn by the country’s vast mineral potential and the increasing government focus on resource development.
An official of the company, requesting anonymity, said Pakistan holds substantial reserves of copper, iron, lead, zinc, aluminium, antimony and gemstones, offering strong prospects for investment.
“Pakistan is rich in mineral resources and the government has realised that mining development can help the economy. That is why we have expanded our business here,” the official told Wealth Pakistan on the sidelines of the forum.
He said the event provided an opportunity to introduce the company’s mining capabilities to Pakistani stakeholders. The firm offers end-to-end solutions across the mining value chain, including resource exploration, planning and design, mine construction, ecological rehabilitation, mineral processing, and operations and maintenance services.
“We offer full-flow technical engineering solutions, from feasibility studies and integrated planning to construction, equipment supply and operation optimisation,” he added.
While the company has not yet made deep mining investments in Pakistan, the official said it is positioning itself to provide engineering services, equipment and operational support as projects advance. The firm can also support mining projects through investment, equipment supply, planning and design, as well as operation and maintenance services.
He added that the company has maintained an office in Islamabad for nearly a decade.
