Pakistan’s automobile manufacturing sector recorded strong growth during July-January FY26, with production of trucks and buses increasing by 92.9 percent and car production rising by 57.5 percent compared to the corresponding period last year, according to the Monthly Economic Update & Outlook February 2026 released by the Ministry of Finance.

The sharp increase in heavy vehicle production reflects a significant recovery in the transport manufacturing segment during the first seven months of the fiscal year. The 92.9 percent growth in trucks and buses indicates a substantial rise in output levels compared to the same period of FY25.

Passenger car production also showed strong momentum, expanding by 57.5 percent during July-January FY26. The increase in car manufacturing suggests improved activity in the domestic auto industry during the review period.

The report presents automobile output as part of broader industrial performance indicators during FY26. The rise in vehicle production contributed to overall manufacturing activity during the first half of the fiscal year.

The significant increase in truck and bus production signals higher output in the commercial vehicle segment. Growth in this category reflects expanded manufacturing operations compared to last year’s levels.

Similarly, the rise in car production indicates a notable recovery in the passenger vehicle segment. The 57.5 percent growth rate underscores the scale of improvement recorded during July-January FY26.

The automobile sector’s performance during the review period forms a key component of industrial output trends. The increase in production volumes across both commercial and passenger vehicle categories highlights renewed activity in the sector.

The data suggest that manufacturing capacity utilization improved compared to the previous fiscal year. The strong growth rates in vehicle production reflect a rebound from earlier lower production levels.

Overall, the automobile sector registered substantial gains during July-January FY26. The 92.9 percent rise in trucks and buses and 57.5 percent increase in car production underscore strong growth in transport manufacturing as the fiscal year progresses.
