The Pakistan Pavilion was inaugurated at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2026 in Beijing, bringing together Pakistani enterprises and Chinese business representatives to explore new opportunities in trade, investment and services, China Economic Net (CEN) reported on Thursday.

Speaking at the inauguration, Pakistan's Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi said the pavilion and related business activities were part of Pakistan's broader efforts to mobilize Chinese investment in 21 priority sectors.

Hashmi said the Embassy of Pakistan and its four consulates in China had organized six major business-to-business (B2B) investment conferences covering areas including agriculture, home appliances and electrical equipment, IT and telecom, battery energy storage, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and healthcare.

According to the ambassador, the six investment conferences have so far helped mobilize investment commitments worth $22 billion through more than 650 memoranda of understanding (MOUs).

Around 30 percent of these MOUs have subsequently been converted into agreements, contracts, factories or plants, representing about $7 billion already realized on the ground, he said.

Hashmi emphasized that the next phase would focus on making cooperation increasingly business-to-business driven.

He said the Pakistan-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China was close to formal establishment, while efforts were also underway to establish a Pakistan-China Commercial Center in Beijing's Fengtai District to provide a platform for Pakistani enterprises.

More than two dozen Pakistani enterprises from sectors including agriculture, energy, infrastructure, trade in services and healthcare are participating in this year's CIFTIS, according to the ambassador.

A dedicated business conference will also be held on the sidelines of CIFTIS on Friday, where Pakistani and Chinese companies will explore potential partnerships.

Hashmi said the pavilion would serve as another platform to connect Pakistani businesses with Chinese counterparts and deepen commercial ties.

"This is a great beginning, but it is a long way to go. We have more hard work ahead of us," he said, calling for continued cooperation from businesses and institutions in both countries.
