The Pakistani parliamentary delegation, during its visit to the United Kingdom (UK) after the USA, slammed India for undermining regional peace efforts. Speaking outside the British Parliament while leading a high-level Pakistani delegation, former Foreign Minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that India aims to divide the people and destabilise the region, stressing that Pakistan remains committed to peace and unity.
Bilawal remarked that in the past, terrorism was often linked with Pakistan and Afghanistan. However, he stated that the world is now shifting towards those who advocate for peace. “We are looking to the future—a future in which the message of peace will ultimately prevail,” the PPP chairman emphasised. Supporting the stance, senior delegation member and former Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar also addressed the media outside the UK Parliament.
She said that Pakistan is striving for peace, but unfortunately, India seems more inclined toward conflict than resolution. Hina Khar further stated, “Despite being in a position of strength, Pakistan continues to honour the ceasefire. We expect India to respect international agreements and uphold its commitments.” Speaking earlier at the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London, Bilawal called upon the world to play a role in bringing India to the dialogue table with Pakistan.
Bilawal stated that Pakistan was prepared to engage in dialogue with India on all issues. He said that Kashmir was the unfinished agenda of the partition of the subcontinent. The PPP chairman said that India was using water as a weapon against Pakistan, and this Indian threat should be condemned. He stated that Pakistan and India have reached an agreement on a ceasefire, but this does not mean the two countries have reached a comprehensive peace agreement.
It is worth mentioning that the Pakistani diplomatic delegation, led by Bilawal, recently concluded a visit to the United States and has now reached the United Kingdom to highlight the Indian aggression. During their US tour, the delegation actively participated in United Nations sessions and engaged in high-level meetings with global leaders and members of the US Congress. Discussions primarily focused on the Kashmir dispute and the urgent need for regional peace and stability.
