Kundi warns of governor rule in KP if PTI doesn’t cooperateBreaking

December 08, 2025

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has warned that if the provincial government did not cooperate with the federal government, the imposition of governor’s rule will become inevitable. He added that a convicted individual must serve their sentence. Addressing a ceremony at the Governor House in Peshawar on Monday, Kundi said the KP government should work with the federation, and reminded it that the Constitution provides the option of governor’s rule.

“If PTI refuses to cooperate and continues to create obstacles, then governor’s rule will be enforced,” he warned.  The governor added that it is now the people -- not street protests -- who will decide the future. “A stubborn attitude will not be tolerated. There will be no Islamabad march this time. It will be dealt with an iron hand,” he warned.

He further remarked, “The person who said he would cut off fuel supplies to the Governor House -- where is he today? The PTI wants a convicted person to run the party and the country. A convicted person must serve their sentence. The courts will decide the fate of the PTI founder.”
