The National Foods Limited (NFL) is fast gaining global recognition through strategic expansion, innovation, and a strong focus on local sourcing, reports WealthPk. NFL’s global expansion is driving robust export growth and contributing to Pakistan’s economic development. The company aims to strengthen its market position through strategic planning, ongoing innovation, and a strong commitment to quality and efficiency.
Operating in 40 countries across five continents, NFL has transformed from a local spice maker into a global food leader through visionary leadership and a commitment to excellence.
Established in 1970, National Foods has grown from a spice-focused company into a global food brand with a presence in key markets such as the UAE, North America, and the UK. Its acquisition of Canada’s A-1 Bags and Supplies Inc. strengthened its North American footprint.
Moreover, NFL’s export strategy centers on its “Seed to Table” initiative, promoting agricultural self-sufficiency through partnerships in digital farming, crop innovation and boosting export capacity, rural livelihoods, and Pakistan’s agri-food exports.
The international division has boosted brand visibility through campaigns in key markets, including a pilot with Costco in North America and targeted promotions in the UK, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, NFL’s sauces gained global recognition, with all seven variants winning top honors at the 2025 ITI Superior Taste Awards.
NFL’s latest financial results for the nine months ending March 31, 2025, report a rise in net sales by 16% year-on-year to Rs74.3 billion, while gross profit increased 20% to Rs21.3 billion.
The company’s operating profit grew by 24% to Rs6.5 billion, and net profit after tax surged to Rs3.6 billion. As a result, earnings per share nearly doubled to Rs12.5. These strong results were fueled by growth in both domestic and export markets, supported by expanded capacity, improved efficiency, local sourcing, and the integration of advanced technology.
Furthermore, a major milestone is the launch of its Rs7 billion advanced facility in Faisalabad, producing 6,000 tons monthly and creating over 600 jobs. This plant has boosted efficiency, driving a 17% rise in net sales and improved margins for the nine months ending March 31, 2025, supported by SEZ tax benefits.
The company is advancing the food industry while supporting the agricultural sector through a blend of innovation, local sourcing, and strategic global partnerships. NFL’s growing presence both domestically and around the world offers a valuable lesson for Pakistani businesses. It shows that with the right approach, they can succeed on the global stage while also boosting the national economy and supporting local communities.
