Pakistan’s textile and leather exports recorded a 10 percent rise during the first two months of FY2025-26, despite a dip in August, according to provisional data published by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

The report shows that Pakistan exported textile and leather products worth $3.38 billion in July–August FY2025-26, compared with $3.08 billion in the same period of FY2024-25. This marked a year-on-year increase of 10 percent, making textiles and leather the largest contributors to Pakistan’s total exports.

In August 2025 alone, however, textile and leather exports were valued at $1.61 billion, down from $1.74 billion in August 2024, reflecting a decline of 7 percent on a yearly basis. The monthly drop was offset by stronger performance in July 2025, keeping the two-month overall trend positive.

Within textiles, Pakistan’s bed linen exports (HS 6302) rose to $789 million in July–August 2025, compared with $710 million in the same two months last year, showing an increase of 11 percent. Exports of men’s suits and ensembles (HS 6203) were valued at $538 million, slightly up from $530 million a year earlier.

Other categories also registered double-digit growth. Exports of jerseys, pullovers, and cardigans (HS 6110) rose by 23 percent, reaching $199 million against $162 million last year. Women’s suits, jackets, and dresses (HS 6204) increased by 76 percent, totaling $123 million compared with $70 million in July–August FY2024-25.

Overall, Pakistan’s exports of goods stood at $5.1 billion during the two-month period, showing only a marginal increase of 0.65 percent compared with $5.07 billion a year earlier. Despite the broader stagnation in export performance, the textile and leather sector remained a strong pillar, accounting for more than half of Pakistan’s total goods exports.
