AJK PM, Sardar Yasir Ilyas agree on joint strategy to boost tourism in Azad Kashmirتازترین

Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, met with the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Tourism, Sardar Yasir Ilyas, in Islamabad to discuss a comprehensive strategy for promoting tourism and attracting investment in the region.During the meeting, both sides reached a consensus on the need for a joint roadmap, strategic collaboration, and a well-integrated plan to unlock Azad Kashmir’s immense tourism potential.

Emphasis was placed on creating an investor-friendly environment to encourage both domestic and international investors.Speaking after the meeting, Sardar Yasir Ilyas stated, “Azad Kashmir possesses extraordinary natural beauty and untapped tourism potential that can be transformed into a powerful driver of economic growth.”

He added, “Tourism is not just about travel; it’s a tool for job creation, community development, and sustainable peace.”Highlighting the federal government’s commitment, Sardar Yasir said, “We are determined to place Azad Kashmir firmly on the global tourism map by ensuring world-class facilities, enhanced security, and infrastructure development.

”He further remarked, “Attractive opportunities already exist for both local and foreign investors. Our goal is to turn these opportunities into impactful, long-term projects.”He stressed the importance of public-private partnerships and inter-governmental collaboration, stating, “The federal and AJK governments will work hand in hand to develop a comprehensive action plan that delivers results.”

The discussion also centered around the need for master planning, improved access routes, preservation of natural heritage, and vocational training for the local workforce to meet the rising demands of the tourism sector.The meeting concluded with a shared vision of transforming Azad Kashmir into a premier tourist destination, leveraging its landscape, culture, and strategic location.
