In response to a recent polio case and environmental detection of the virus, a special anti-polio campaign will commence on July 1 in 16 districts of Balochistan. The provincial health department announced the campaign following the discovery of a new polio case. The targeted districts include Loralai, Qila Saifullah, Daki, Awsta Muhammad, Mastung, Sibi, Nasirabad, Kalat, Zhob, Sherani, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Musa Khel, Lasbela, Barkhan, and Ziarat Tehsil Sanjawi. So far this year, Balochistan has reported five polio cases: two in Qila Abdullah and one each in Quetta, Dera Bugti, and Chaman. The health department aims to curb the spread of the virus through this comprehensive vaccination drive.
