The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has secured a budget of 65 billion rupees for the current financial year, following intervention by the Prime Minister. According to Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, the commission had initially proposed a budget of [redacted amount], but faced challenges in securing that amount. However, thanks to the Prime Minister's actions, the budget was ultimately increased to 65 billion rupees. While this represents a win for the HEC, Dr. Ahmed did note that the commission had requested a development budget of 69 billion rupees. They have been informed that the actual development allocation will be 55 billion rupees.
