The AJK State Inland Revenue Department, Circle-03 Kotli, has set a new benchmark by collecting a record-breaking sum of over Rs. 1.32 billion in tax revenue during the fiscal year 2024-25. Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue Kotli, Shakeel Ahmed Awan, announced this achievement in a press statement, revealing that Rs 1.09 billion was collected in income tax and over Rs. 230 million in other taxes.

Disclosing this, Awan told on Thursday that as compared to the previous fiscal year, there had been a significant improvement, with total collections rising from Rs 1.10 billion to over Rs 1.32 billion. According to him, the final calculations were still underway, and it was expected that these figures might improve further. 

Shakeel Ahmed Awan attributed this success not only to teamwork, office discipline, and continuous hard work, but also to departmental reforms and the implementation of modern digital systems. 

He noted that several key reform initiatives had been introduced in the AJK Inland Revenue Department , including Point of Sale (POS) System, Online Tax Registration, Tax Return Filing, Online Tax Payments, Online Registration and Filing of Sales Tax and Successful Integration of FBR and AJK data.
