June 27, 2025

The Lahore High Court (LHC) will commence its annual summer vacation on July 7, lasting for two months, during which only specific categories of cases will be heard. According to court sources, only essential petitions will be accepted during this break.

These include habeas corpus cases, recovery applications, and pre- and post-arrest bail matters, which will be treated as regular hearings. Petitions related to cancellation of bail, quashing of FIRs, and challenges to orders by Additional Sessions Judges for FIR registration will also be entertained.

Additionally, miscellaneous applications regarding settlement in civil and criminal cases can be filed, and any regular case may be scheduled with the Chief Justice's approval. The court will also continue to hear pre-approved cases, and petitions involving settlements against convictions will be considered. The Chief Justice’s consent will be mandatory for any non-emergency matter to be taken up during the recess.
