Three dacoits were killed and one policeman received serious wounds during a police encounter in Arifwala. The police encounter took place near Chak No22KB of Arifwala. Police recovered motorcycles and weapons from the possession of the dead dacoits. All the dead dacoits were wanted by the police in different criminal cases.Later, the injured policeman was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) in Arifwala. Earlier on July 7, 2025, a wanted dacoit was shot dead and two of his colleagues were arrested in an injured condition during a police encounter in Arifwala. The In-charge of the Crime Control Department (CCD) Malik Tariq said that some unknown dacoits were on their way on a loader rickshaw after snatching animals at gunpoint when they came face-to-face with the CCD team.

The dead dacoit Ilyas alias Ilyasi was killed when his colleagues opened fire on the police party. He said that Ilyas alias Ilyasi was involved in more than 70 criminal cases.The injured dacoits Allah Ditta, resident of Chak No. 58/12 L was involved in 30, and Jaffar, resident of Chak 161 EB, was involved in more than 22 criminal cases.
