Four people, including three government employees, were shot dead in the hilly area of Babuzai in Katlang, Mardan. Soon after the incident, police cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt in the area.  The bodies of the deceased were shifted to a hospital. Two police officials were martyred when some unidentified persons opened fire at them in Swabi late Friday night.

According to details, the incident occurred in the jurisdiction of IDS Police Station, where the assailants opened fire at the police officials while they were having a meal at a restaurant. Both of them died on the spot. The attackers managed to escape from the scene following the attack. 

The bodies of the officials were later shifted to a hospital where they were identified as Constable Jamal Din and driver Zahid. A heavy contingent of police reached the spot after the incident and cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to arrest those involved in the attack.
