In a joint operation carried out by the Pakistan Rangers Sindh and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), three terrorists of Fitna-ul-Khwarij have been arrested in Karachi. The terrorists were identified as Naimatullah (alias Abid), Muhammad Noor (alias Mani), and Sabirullah (alias Daniyal), were traced in Mehran Town, Korangi. A number of arms, ammunition, and explosives were also seized from their possession.

Authorities claimed they intended to use the weapons and explosives during planned terrorist activities, target killings, and extortion in Karachi. The three individuals allegedly have ties to Fitna-ul-Khwarij commander, Roman Raees, as well as the Islamuddin group. One of the accused, Naimatullah, has been an associate of the Fitna-ul-Khawarij’s Mufti Noor Wali group since 2018.

Having received training in Afghanistan, he has been involved in several operations against security forces. For this, he was arrested and jailed in 2019 and 2021 but he became active again following his release. Muhammad Noor, meanwhile, conducted reconnaissance activities in sensitive places in Karachi and sent his reports to the Islamuddin group, from whom he received funding.

The last of the accused, Sabirullah used to make viral videos of the terrorist organization to put up on social media. He officially joined the Islamuddin group in 2024 and came to Karachi in order to carry out illicit activities on the group’s behalf. The three terrorists were arrested in Karachi before they could put any of their plans into motion. Further investigation was under way and significant revelations are expected.
