Two arrested suspects were shot dead in two police encounters in Lahore. These police encounters took place in Chung and Nishtar Town areas of Lahore. Crime Control Department (CCD) sources said that one accused, identified as Adnan died when his companions opened fire on the police party. The CCD team was taking him for recovery in Chung area. In the second police encounter, a 25-year-old Gul Zaib was killed by the firing of his own companions when the CCD team was taking him for recovery in Nishtar Town.  

Later, his colleagues escaped from the spot, taking advantage of the darkness. CCD sources said that the dead accused was involved in dozens of serious criminal cases, including dacoity, kidnapping for ransom, murder, attempted murder, and snatching. CCD placed various barricades on the road in a bid to apprehend the culprits, but all efforts became useless to arrest the culprits. It is necessary to mention here that CCD personnel and police vans remained safe during these encounters.
