250 MW electricity can be produced by using Karachi’s solid waster

KARACHI, Nov 05 (INP): Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that 17000 tons of garbage is lifted from Karachi daily and five 50 megawatt capacity power plants can be installed by using this garbage. He stated this while chairing a high level meeting on project of producing electricity from garbage and waste held here on Monday. [timed-content-server show="11/06/2018 01:00 Asia/Karachi"]Murad Ali Shah said that by using solid waste we can establish five power plants of 50 megawatts capacity each and a cumulative 250 megawatts of electricity can be produced. Syed Murad Ali Shah directed Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani that Solid Waste Management should device a policy for giving garbage to the power plant. He said that there is a proposal of installing such power plant at Chakra Goth in Karachi which is land fill site.
