AC adjourns Ishaq Dar case hearing till June 19

ISLAMABAD, June 12 (INP): An Accountability Court of Islamabad on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of assets case against former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar after Investigation officer’s statements were not recorded.
No development took place in today’s hearing of the case as statements of National Accountability Bureau’s Investigation officer were not recorded in a reference alleging Ishaq Dar of accumulating assets beyond his income.
The court ordered NAB officer to bring an attested copy of Supreme Court’s verdict and adjourned hearing till June 19.
On May 27, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Pakistan and the British government for kicking-off legal procedures to bring back former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar back to the country.
Mirza Shahzad Akbar, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Accountability, took to Twitter to reveal the news.
“Productive two days meetings in London with UK Home Secretary @sajidjavid & FCO MoS @MarkFieldUK. UK signs first ever MoU for extradition to Pakistan, setting legal basis for the extradition of Ishaq Dar in absence of a treaty”, Mirza Shahzad Akbar tweeted.
