KARACHI, Nov 23 (INP): Assistant superintendent of police Suhaee Aziz Talpur was among the first to rush to the Chinese consulate in Karachi upon reports of gunshots and blasts heard outside the building. ASP Suhaee Aziz led the security operation to foil the terrorist attack on the Chinese consulate, successfully engaging the suspects on the site. The first woman ASP from lower Sindh, Suhaee Aziz received praise for her bravery from the Sindh chief minister and Inspector General Sindh Police. During his briefing to the Chinese consul general about the incident, CM Murad Ali Shah stood up and hailed her bravery. “Suhaee Aziz, you have set an example of bravery. These are the women who are ahead of everyone,” he was quoted as saying. Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also praised ASP Suhaee Aziz. "The reprehensible terrorist attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi, was thwarted by the courageous fight put up by our Sindh Police led by the courageous ASP Suhaee Aziz. I salute the brave officers who were martyred courageously protecting our friends. We honour them," he tweeted. Security forces earlier on Friday foiled an attack on the Chinese consulate located in Karachi’s upscale Clifton, killing all three terrorists and seizing at least nine hand grenades, Kalashnikov bullets, magazines and explosives. Two police officials were martyred while carrying out retaliatory firing. A security guard was critically injured and rushed to a hospital.
