Chenab, Indus in low flood as rains continue across country

ISLAMABAD, Aug 1 (INP): The Indus and Chenab rivers were in low flood on Thursday at a number of points as monsoon rains continue across the country from the past few days. According to details, light showers continue in various parts of Punjab, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Gujranwala, Attock, Chakwal, Ahmedpur Sial, Jhelum and Murree are receiving sporadic rains while some parts KPK including Swat and Kohat were hit by the heavy rain. Indus is in low flood at Chashma, Taunsa and Jinnah while Chenab at Qadirabad, Marala and Khanki is also in a low flood. The authorities have issued high-alert and directed the people, living near Indus and Chenab rivers, to shift themselves to some safe place.
