ISLAMABAD, Oct. 26 (INP): Chinese leadership is eagerly awaiting Prime Minister Imran Khan to meet him in Beijing in first week of next month. “The visit is very important and the Chinese government is prepared to extend all possible help to Pakistan, enabling it to successfully face the current economic challenges,” said Chinese ambassador in Pakistan Yao Jing while giving a briefing on the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister. The briefing was arranged the Chinese embassy here on Friday to apprise the media about the visit and the progress, recently achieved in implementing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The briefing was also attended by representatives of Chinese companies which are involved in the implementing major projects in Pakistan. Chinese Deputy Head of Mission Zhao Lijian also joined the ambassador in updating the media on CPEC. Yao Jing said, Imran Khan will pay his four-day official visit to China from November 2 at the invitation of Chinese leadership. During the visit, he will hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and other state leaders to review the entire range of bilateral relations which have enjoyed a long history of mutual trust and mutual support. This will be the first visit of the prime minister to China after assuming office in August 2018. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. The visit signifies the closeness and traditional warmth which characterises Pakistan-China all weather strategic cooperative partnership. Both sides will sign several agreements in diverse fields. After his visit to Beijing, the prime minister will visit Shanghai to participate in First China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, where Pakistan is exhibiting a wide range of export products. The prime minister will be a key note speaker at the inauguration of the expo. Ambassador Yao Jing, while expressing China’s strong commitment with Pakistan for its socio-economic uplift, assured that ‘China wants to invest in Pakistan and buy from Pakistan’. We fully stand by Pakistan for the socio-economic well-being of the people, he said adding that the CPEC is a step forward for building a strong and prosperous Pakistan. The enemies’ propaganda will not work, and the CPEC is destined to achieve the ultimate objectives, promoting development not only in Pakistan but the entire region, the ambassador added. Yao Jing urged the media to extend a helping hand in projecting this mega project in right prospective, passing on correct reformation to the people. He appreciated the vision and reformative approach of the new government, stating that they are ready to work with Prime Minister Imran Khan and his cabinet to achieve future socio-economic targets. China as a true friend of Pakistan closely watching the developments, taking place in Pakistan in various sectors and wish for their complete success. We welcome the initiatives of the new government for a better future. China believes that Pakistan is playing a very positive and active role in promoting peace and stability at the regional and international level, the ambassador added. INP/J/AJ
