Christchurch shooting: Islamic school in Newcastle vandalized for the second time

NEWCASTLE, March 27 (INP): After the horrific Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand on March 15, fear has gripped Muslims in Newcastle after a second attack in less than two weeks wrecked havoc at an Islamic school.
Copies of Quran were torn apart at Bahr Academy in Newcastle, the building also damaged, and flammable liquid poured on the floor.
The incident took place on Monday after which a neighbor called the police as he noticed suspicious activity in the academy’s ground.
[timed-content-server show="03/28/2019 01:00 Asia/Karachi"]The school's principal, Muhammad Abdulmuheet arrived with the police and said that he saw the intruders and also heard them shouting ‘Muslims’ and ‘terrorists’. The intruders were going to set building on fire, he added. Following the incident, six teenagers have been arrested in Newcastle under hate crime, including an 18-year-old woman, two 16-year-old boys, two 14-year-old boys and a 14-year-old girl, the Northumbria Police said. Earlier, a mass shooting took place at Christchurch mosque in New Zealand on 15 March, during Friday prayers which left 50 people dead. The suspect Brenton Tarrant, a white supremacist, has been sentenced and charged of murders after the incident. INP/AJ[/timed-content-server]
