ISLAMABAD/PESHAWAR, Jan 14 (INP): An earthquake of high intensity jolted the federal capital Islamabad and various other cities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) including provincial capital Peshawar on Sunday but no causality or property loss was reported. According to geological wing of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) tremours measuring 5.1 on Richter Scale were felt in Islamabad, Swat, Mingora, Landi Kotal, Batkhela, Malakand, Peshawar and surroundings. People of the areas where the quake was felt rushed out of their homes in panic reciting verses from holy Quran. However, no causality or property loss was reported from any of the areas where the earthquake was felt. The epi-centre of the quake is stated to be deep inside the earth crust, 191 kilometer North in Hindu Kush Mountains region.
