ISLAMABAD, Dec 05 (INP): Finance Minister Asad Umar on Wednesday has refuted the rumours of his resignation from the post. While talking to a private TV channel, Finance Minister Asad Umar said Prime Minister Imran Khan said that such rumours are propaganda against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. He also said that PM Khan has asked me to continue my job. Earlier, on Monday, PM House sources had also denied the rumours of Finance Minister Asad Umar’s resignation. PM House source had also revealed that the reports on resignation about finance minister are not true. The Finance Minister has no intention to resign, added the source. It is pertinent here to mention that the minister is receiving severe backlash as the dollar became uncontrollable and rupee faced devaluation. Apart from economic experts and opposition, the inner circle of the government is also not satisfied with Asad Umar’s performance. Rumours were rife from Monday morning that the finance minister has resigned from his post following the criticism. However, the PM House while putting an end to the claims termed them baseless and false. The minister has full support of the Prime Minister and will continue performing his duties despite of problems, added the source.
