FIR filed against song Manikya Malaraya Poovi for hurting Muslims' sentiments

MUMBAI, Feb 15 (INP) – Police lodged an FIR against the director of a forthcoming Malayalam film on a Hyderabadi man’s complaint that the lyrics of a song in Oru Adaar Love hurt the sentiments of Muslims. Manikya Malaraya Poovi, a song that makes Priya Varrier famous due to her outstanding expressions, speaks about Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) in a derogatory way. Young man Zaheer Khan said that he searched out the meaning of the song after it got viral on internet, continuing that he approached the concerning department and registered case against the director and actress. It is to be mentioned here that the song ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’ has been composed by Thalassery K Refeeque and recreated by Shaan Rahman with Vineeth Sreenivasan.
