LAHORE, April 03 (INP): At least five people were burnt to death, several scorched and valuables worth millions gutted as fire erupted a confectionery in Barkat Market area of the provincial capital here in the wee hours Tuesday. Rescue sources said that the fire stated to be caused due to an electric short circuit, erupted a confectionery located in Lahore’s Barkat Market area on the ground floor of the multi-storey building, spread to other floors within half-an-hour where dozens people were trapped. [timed-content-server show="04/04/2018 03:00 Asia/Karachi"]The fire brigade vehicles and rescue personnel rushed the scene and started efforts to extinguish the blaze. Five people were burnt to death and valuables worth million of rupees were gutted before the fire was brought under control due to hectic efforts of fire brigades. Rescue workers also pulled out several scorched people from the building and shifted them to hospital.
