RAWALPINDI, Oct 18 (INP) Despite announcement by the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi that people were getting gas according to their needs, most of the residential areas of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad are hard hit by the gas load shedding during cooking hours in the morning and evening. The gas pressure has gone to almost Zero in many old localities of Rawalpindi and rural areas of Islamabad. Those localities worst affected by the lack of gas pressure are Khayban-e-Sir Syed, Bangash colony, Fauji Colony, Chungi No.22, Lalazar, Dheri , Tali Mori, Tanch Bhatta and other cant areas. In Islamabad, the worst affected areas are near Khanna Pul and Tarnol. House wives of Khayban-e-Sir Syed strongly criticised the handling of the gas supply by SNGPL saying that the officials there were attending the needs of the high officials and posh localities while the poor are unable to prepare breakfast for their school going children. They said they are suffering from gas shedding for the last four years but the government has been making hollow claims to address the problem. They said being lower middle class families they are unable to pay for the LNG to prepare food for their families while the prices of fuel wood is beyond their reach. They have appealed the Prime Minister to pay urgent attention to their problem and ensure equal distribution of timings of load shedding across the country. INP/AH/LK
