Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) region of Pakistan, one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Asia, has received a record number of foreign tourists in the current year, WealthPK reports.
According to Gilgit-Baltistan Minister for Tourism Raja Nasir Ali Khan, the government is taking practical steps to promote tourism in the region.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that the government is striving to improve tourism policy and road infrastructure to attract more tourists.
He added that a top priority of the government is to provide world-class facilities to tourists in the area.
“Gilgit-Baltistan is a land of hospitality, adventure, cultures, mountains, lakes, pastures and beautiful people. The unique tourism potential of Gilgit-Baltistan has been enhancing the tourist flow, creating investment opportunities and promoting the positive image of Pakistan,” said the minister.
He said that there is a dire need to promote eco-friendly tourism in the region. He said skilled manpower is required to utilise the natural resources of GB for the development and prosperity of the region.
He said that the people of GB would soon witness an unprecedented era of economic prosperity with enhancement in revenue generation through tourism and employment opportunities.
