Gilani thanks Pakistan for continued support to Kashmir cause

SRINAGAR, Feb 04 (INP): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has thanked Pakistan for its continued moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris’ just struggle for securing their inalienable right to self-determination since 1947.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar prayed for peace, stability, progress and prosperity of Pakistan and said a strong and stable Pakistan is very important for peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. The APHC Chairman’s statement came after Pakistan Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, made a call to him and discussed the current volatile situation in occupied Kashmir.

[timed-content-server show="02/05/2019 01:00 Asia/Karachi"]Syed Ali Gilani expressed the hope that the government of Pakistan would leave no stone unturned to safeguard the basic and fundamental rights of the oppressed and suppressed people of occupied Kashmir. He asked the country to take cognizance of deteriorating human values and prevailing bloodshed in the occupied territory and activate its embassies all over the world and appraise the international community about this issue and the atrocities being faced by the people at the hands of Indian occupational forces. He also expressed the confidence that Pakistan’s sincere efforts to highlight the Kashmir dispute at the international level would compel the world leadership to play a positive role in the settlement of the lingering dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations. As per the statement, the APHC Chairman told Shah Mahmood Qureshi that the repressive measures adopted by the India in occupied Kashmir had forced the Kashmiri people to resist through peaceful means. “The authorities have crossed all limits. People and leadership are caged and voices strangulated. Hence it is the duty of Pakistan to represent our aspirations in every corner and in all world forums,” he added. In his response, the statement said, Pakistan Foreign Minister assured Syed Ali Gilani that Pakistan will continue to extend its moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris in their just struggle for right to self-determination and raise strong voice to highlight the Indian aggression and brutalities against the people of occupied Kashmir.
