Goal before MMA is to weed out corruption: Baloch

LAHORE, June 30 (INP): Secretary General of Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the goal before the MMA is to weed out corruption, evolve a civilized and responsible media, and ensure good governance through accountability of the parliament, judiciary and the executive. Addressing corner meetings in his constituency, NA 130, he said that the status quo was the root cause of all evils and the MMA leadership would break the status quo. The MMA also wanted an effective and strong local bodies system, he added. Speaking at a women convention, he said that the MMA would protect the omen rights in the light of the Islamic teachings and enable them play their role in nation building. Liaqat Baloch said that the Nizam e Musatafa was the solution of all the problems facing the country and eh MMA would ensure the supremacy of the system given by the Quran and the Sunnah. The country would be freed from the curse of interest and the policy of economic self reliance would be adopted. He said that new dams were essential to solve the energy problem and to meet the water shortage. INP/AK
