Govt withdraws tax rebate from senior citizens

ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (INP): The Government has reportedly withdrawn income tax rebate that were being given to senior citizens and the disabled persons.
Earlier, they were entitled of 50 percent rebate, in the cases where their taxable income used to be less than 10 lakh per annum. They were availing the concession for the last many years.
However, from the current financial year, this special concession is no more available to the senior citizens and disabled persons, an official of the Federal Board of Revenue confirmed it, stating the income tax is now imposed across the board.
